The Badoo Project Plus Me
/Last week, a social networking site called Badoo took photos of 1000 New Yorkers to put on the largest photoshoot that the city has ever seen. And I was lucky enough to be a part of it all.
The photoshoot itself was a blast. OK, I will admit that I was a little nervous en route but that’s really because I didn’t know what to expect. But once I arrived the nerves lessened.
Check-in was super easy and included a little tutorial of the Badoo site. Then, I had a chance to mingle with others complete with refreshments and ping pong. Let’s be technical, I didn’t play ping pong, but it was there. Next it was on to hair and makeup where I received two of the best compliments ever. Not only did the makeup artists rave over my red lipstick but the gal doing my makeup was shocked that I had just moved to New York. She told me I fit right in and she would have guessed I’d been here for years. Perhaps she was just making conversation but thank you makeup artist for making my day.
After hair and makeup, it was time to accessorize. The gal picked out a fun necklace and guided me to the section for the photo shoot. My photos were taken by the lovely and talented, Kenneth Cappello who was super great at putting me at ease. I told him as the shoot started that he had to tell me what to do because I am not a poser so I will just stand there smiling like an idiot. He got me to move around a little and laugh which provided for a few different photos.
I think he took a little over 20 pictures total and I was able to choose five. The guy who helped me look through my pictures was hilarious and did a great job at helping me pick out some good ones. Here’s a couple that I liked:
Then I just had to wait for my pictures. Which was really just code for sipping cocktails and eating some tasty appetizers. There was also a huge graffiti wall where I left my mark. It also made me really want one for my apartment too. And, I also nabbed a t-shirt that reads “I want a juicy burger.” I seriously think they had me in mind when they printed that shirt.
So now I have some fancy new photos, a cool new shirt, a new social networking site to explore, and another fabulous New York experience under my belt. Thanks Badoo for an amazing evening!
Oh and apparently this whole Badoo Project thing could land me a sweet spot on a billboard. And even though I am a little nervous at that whole idea, it would be pretty cool. So, why not vote for me?
