What started on a whim as "All The Single Ladies" on ChicagoNow.com, "Not What I ordered" was formerly a blog solely focused on dating. As things progressed, posts were added that discussed life and relationships in general. Today, the blog is my account of my life and all the things that are happening around me. Sometimes you just have to write things out in order to make sense of it all.

I chose the name, courtesy of a lot of help from a friend, because I felt it summed up what I've learned about life so far. Life doesn't really happen the way you planned it. Life is chaotic and it's messy but that's not a bad thing and that's why I gave up on the plan a long time ago.

As for dating, I've also learned a couple of important things. First, love doesn't come easy and it happens when and where you least expect it. Second, if there is a crazy within a 50 mile radius he will find me and want to date me. 

And this blog is where I will share it all.

I'll talk about dating and the happenings of my life. I'll share my adventures wandering the streets of New York City as the new gal in town. I'll post pictures, videos, and articles that I think are interesting. But no matter what I am sharing, it's all my life and it's all true.
